We have a beautiful, cool Sunday morning here in the canyon. Two four point bucks joined me in the meadow this morning. They still have velvet on their antlers and look so majestic and stately…..I love to get up to this scene in the mornings. The big beautiful wild peacock did not come for breakfast and did not roost in his usual tree last night….I hope he is ok out there somewhere.
Comment left by one of our guests on August 16th after spending a week here at the Ramsey Canyon Cowboy Cabin……
Dave said “Thank you for the stay at the Cowboy cabin 8/9 through 8/16. I had a wonderful time, it was a great vacation being able to sit outside and see a dozen different Hummingbirds, turkey, deer, Gray Hawks. I hope to return next spring for a vacation. Thanks for the delicious dinner the first night I arrived!”
The weather is in the 60’s and 70’s with light sprinkles in the afternoon…..

Good morning to all early risers, it is 4:54 am and it is beautiful outside, last night’s rain cooled the air and greened up the meadow. The rain has not come down as we had hoped for this year but it is still drizzling a little now and then. The birds and animals seem to be faring pretty well, but we are all waiting for that beautiful creek to begin flowing again.
We are looking forward to the second annual Chili Cook off here at the cabins and hope many of you can make it. We have a lot of fun, door prizes, prizes and memorabilia for cooks, games and fun for the kids and we honor all October Birthdays at the same time…..hope to see you here…October 3….

Wow it is just great weather here this summer, cool with light breeszes. Once in a while a light dust of rain….the temperature this morning is 60 degrees at 6:2 5 am.
Out the window you can enjoy the Gould Turkeys rummaging around, a group of young deer, and the beautiful Scott’s Oriale singing his song at the feeders….The Black Headed Grosebeak is also waiting in the wings for the feeder and a Mexican Blue Jay just landed. He is so big that all the other birds move out…these birds are here all year long, they don’t migrate and they love unshelled peanuts.
The gray squirrel has given up for now on this new feeder at the window, it is too hard for him to get into. He is trying to get there from the windows now…Love the squirrels but they really take a lot of bird food….

We had our first dusting of snow on December 26th, it was beautiful. The canyon is alive with Gould Turkeys and Deer. The beautifful wild peacock comes with them in the morning and evening, just hoping there will be a grain of bird seed somewhere. The Magnificent Hummingbird is still hanging around in this cold weather as well as the beautiful blue Mexican Jays and of course those pesky squirrels…..

It is 41 degrees her this morning at 7 am. A lot cooler than the last post. The trees are still golden and orange, making the sunrise just beautiful with color. Our vacation home in Bisbee is also just beautiful this time of year. It is rented this week by a couple from New Hampshire. What a change for them, wow.
